Kyra Minton was born in the city of New York, and is an American actress. Her name is known all over the world and especially in America for her lead role in the TV show 'The Closer'. Sedgwick had a passion for art, acting as well as Broadway since she was only 12 years old. She was first introduced to Broadway by her mother who had an interest in it. Sedgwick was only 16 when she got her acting career started on the show 'Another World. Sedgwick went on to play small time roles in the television but it was really the idea that she could be a famous actor that enticed her. The first film she appeared in was 'Born on the Fourth of July.' She starred alongside Tom Cruise in this supporting part. Sedgwick received more movie roles following the popularity of this film, which included: "Singles", "Heart and Souls", and "Phenomenon". She worked in a TV film titled 'Lemon Sky in which she got to know her actor husband Kevin Bacon and got married to him at just 22. Sedgwick was a star on American television by her flawless performance. The Closer, which lasted seven seasons, won numerous awards, including the Golden Globe and Emmy.
